HELLO TPP -Goodbye America

Before we attack the Trans Pacific Partnership, let us learn what it is.  The Trans Pacific Partnerdhip (TPP), is a trade agreement that would be made between America and  five Asian countries.  It is supposed tho boost trade between these countries.  However, the TPP is something altogether different, and, it is scary.

Under this agreement, International Corporations would have the right to sue a participating country if the corporation believes they have lost profits due to that country's actions.

In example, a Canadian energy company is suing America for 15  billion dollars because President Obama successfully stopped the XL Pipeline.  The company claims that stopping the pipeline robbed them off future assets of that projected amount.

Clearly, this is ludicrous.  Another example is Uruguay; a country that tried to put explicit labels on their cigarettes warming about the pitfalls of smoking.  Philip Morris, a big tobacco company is suing this tiny, mostly poor country, for millions of dollars claiming that the preventatives put in place to protect the Uruguayan people cut Phillip Morris' profits.

The TPP has farther reaching consequences than being sued. If the United States decides to go completely green, limiting, and eventually freeing us from the fossil fuel industry, or to put into play regulations that reign in the fossil fuel companies, we can again be sued for interfering with corporate profits.

In other words if we adopt the TPP we can say "goodbye" to America as we know it.  We will no longer be free to raise our minimum wage, clean our atmosphere,  and in some cases provide clean water and environments for our millions of citizens.

The TPP will also make it easier for jobs to be taken overseas without consideration of the American worker.  Any attempt to organize into unions would be a cause for a law suit as unions would cut into the profits that these companies seek.

You can see the restrictive one sided advantage that the Corporations would enjoy.  These law suits would not be adjudicated in a normal, moral court, but in a tribunal, before corporate lawyers who surely would consistently side with the Corporations.

President Obama is pushing hard for the TPP while Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, who at first gave the TPP a yes vote, calling it "the gold standard" of trade deals, is now against  the TPP.

Forged in secret, founded on greed, the Trans Pacific Partnership is not a good deal for anyone except the Uber-rich.  Stand against this disastrous trade deal.

A New Way To Do Politics

Last night Our Senator, Bernie Sanders launched his organization that will carry his dream for a Democratic led Congress through.  If you're a Sanders supporter like me, this is a goal that has great importance.  Without a Progressive democratic party none of the expansive platform that our Senator has proposed may come to fruition.

I noticed that The Senator was rested, and even some of that old  tiger flitted through.  He spoke of the issues he seeks to address.  Income inequality, climate change, free college  tuition and healthcare, in short all the items on his progressive Democratic platform.

The reason he reiterated and emphasised these issues is because some of them are coming up in referendum on ballots for the public vote.  He requested our positive votes on these items, such as  single payer health care referendum in Colorado.
Senator Sanders stated that he will be handling the issue of super delegates, and, I suppose the flagrant election fraud perpetrated in his campaign in the future.

Senator Sanders made it clear that  the main crux of Our Revolution would be to elect  to office in the Democratic party those candidates who would further the Senators progressive ideals.

He spoke for one hour to a small gathering in Vermont but his podcast reached more  than 200,000.  Not bad for a guy who's campaign was seriously sabotaged by the Democratic National Committee.  Though his momentum may have been slowed, his popularity has not.  During  the podcast, which I watched here  on Face Book, I read some of the comments being made by supporters.  For the most part they were positive, although I wondered how many of those observers were truly  listening as some of the  questions asked were questions Senator Sanders already answered.

This morning, looking through my fellow Berners comments about the podcast, I see dissatisfaction.  Some complain that he mentioned Secretary Clinton.  Well, what did his followers expect.  She has our platform in her hands.  She's the one, no matter how you feel about it, that has to begin the fulfillment of  our dreams for reformation of the American Government.  He said this may take years, thus change may take decades, but if WE don't act, change will never come about.

Berners are complaining about Bernie not doing what  they wanted him to do.  Some are angry because he still supports Ms. Clinton, some are angry because he did not address the election fraud then and there, and he did not say that he was re-entering the Presidential race.

These issues are petty differences, not worth fleeing the good company we have found ourselves in for  the past year. I count as hollow those supporters that fall away because their desires are not met.   We are not working for ourselves, we are not  working for personal gain.  We are working for the betterment of our country.  We are working for equality, justice, and truly fair representation at the voting both. NOT for  individual needs and desires.  I would say to Sanders supporters, "there is no room for  selfish and childlike refusal to partake in this new organization.  If you  feel that last night's podcast was not speaking to you, there  are Hillary Clinton, Jill Stein, Donald Trump and Gary Johnson to choose  from,  perhaps you would be  happier in one of those camps."  If the fact that Jeff Weaver will be leading the group and not Senator  Sanders threw you into tizzle, maybe Our Revolution is not for you.  As a seated Senator, Bernie can't head his organization.  He is highly  effective in the Senate floor and right now, that is the best place  for him to be.  I do not see Weaver making passionate pleas for participation.  He is a very laid back fellow.  However, Bernie trusts him, and we should take that at high value.

We were given a website, ourrevolution.com/act to go to for taking part in this new adventure.  When I tried this address, I came up with no matches.  I will try again  today and let  my FB friends know the  outcome

In conclusion let me say this:  Senator Sanders gave us a great gift.  He she showed us first hand that everything is NOT hunky-dory in our country.  There are serious issues that must be addressed, urgently.  If you, as a Sanders supporter disagree with him, that is okay, as the Senator says, "this is a Democracy, you're entitled to your opinion."
 Don't bash the man because he did not fit into YOUR mold.  Let him work his magic from the only vantage point that can do the most good.  He's still working hard for us, blocking the TPP and voting against President Obama's nominee to head the health care initiative.

This is Senator  Sanders life's work.  Let's support him in the same fashion we did when he ran for POTUS.   This is about US not just YOU.

OUR REVOLUTION

WHERE IS EVERYBODY?

 By the end of the Democratic convention, Senator Bernie Sanders was able to say that he had 13 million votes; 13 million followers.

 As I read posts on Facebook, and see what people are saying, it seems they have gone a different route than following Senator Sanders. Some of this is because he endorsed the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton . I understand this because to many she is not the legal nominee and Senator Sanders is . His endorsement of Hillary Clinton also perturbed many of his followers , including myself, she is the antithesis of all we are fighting against . However, Senator Sanders told us again and again and again in practically every speech he made not to put all our faith in HIM . His ideal was for us to stand on our own 2 feet . Now, all we seem to do is wander hopelessly .

The issues that Senator Sanders raised that inflamed all of us have been thrown aside because people have their heads so wrapped up in this election .

 I admit that for a time I was confused; I had no direction. I admit that for a time I thought I would go Green.  I felt abandoned. I felt leaderless. Then, I realized I don't need a leader.

I am the leader .

 This is the essence of what Senator Sanders wants for every single American . You are the leaders of this country . We elect representatives to do what we tell them to do; they are getting paid to do what we tell them to do .

 So I have decided to pay no more attention to this ridiculous election and to focus my attention on those things that must be done to improve my country .

 Senator Sanders has programs that he is developing that will help anyone go and run for office whether you have money or not, whether you have knowledge of politics  or not . We need to, as a country, as a unified body, take the reins of our country and use them to steer the government in the direction that will work for us .

Our 2016 Political Fiasco

There have been many issues raised during this election season.  Senator Sanders, Independent, Vermont, raised questions of where OUR money was being spent.  I thought I would do a little comparative research.

I decided to take a look at our defense budget and compare it to our education spending.

For the year 2016 the budget proposes 580Billion
For the year 2017 the budget proposes 583 Billion
For the year 2018 the budget proposes 615.4Billion

Notice it increases every year.  The link below will show you projected budgets until 2020 when it will be 643.9 Billion.

I compared this information to America's education budget.

For 2017, the entire education budget is 69.4Billion
They brag that there is a 1.3Billion dollar increase since 2016.  In my humble opinion, that is nothing to be proud about.  Below is a link to see for yourself.

Now, what's wrong with this picture?  To my mind, it clearly shows our government's intent for the youth of our nation.  It proves to me that OUR children are not being raised and educated to be doctors, lawyers or entrepreneurs, but as CANON FODDER.

Our young men, and now, even our young women will be shipped off to foreign soil to fight in trumped up wars that benefit no one but the wealthiest Americans.

And, don't think their boys and girls will go into battle.  They are protected by their affluent standing in American society.

This is shameful.  It is disgusting.  It MUST stop.  Hillary Clinton will be very satisfied with this budget with her war hawk mentality.  Should Mr Trump win, I am certain he can use this budget to produce more of the nuclear weapons he sees as toys for his enjoyment.

Why are we constantly permitting our government to shortchange our youth?  Why are we permitting our government to appropriate such a ludicrous amount of money for "defence" and practically nothing for our children's education?
WHY DO WE PERMIT THIS?

Join me in calling for mass demonstrations.  OUR government is CORRUPT.  Nothing will be GIVEN to us, we must TAKE it.

 Our nation is in extreme distress. We are caught in the middle of corrupt politicians, rich investors with their fingers in every pot , and elections that mean nothing to The People.  Every try at voicing our opinions, or problems are met with apathetic responses. Hillary  Rodham Clinton is set to ascend the throne in November.
What can we do but sit about and wait?

DEMONSTRATE YOUR DISPLEASURE.

WHY are we not on the streets every day protesting her, the DNC, the rampant fraud and the complacency of our President?

Peaceful, non violent protest en masse.  We need this more more than we did at the Convention in Philly.

I am calling for PEACEFUL PROTEST!
I am calling for ALL BERNIECRATS!

Rise up as we were taught.  Rise up!! STAND!! Voice our displeasure.  Put down that TV remote, discard your ear plugs and HEAR ME!

Take off your blindfold AND SEE ME.
